A 20ft flat rack container is a steel shipping platform with no sidewalls and no roof, built for cargo too large or oddly shaped to fit inside a conventional box — vehicles, heavy machinery, large industrial parts, construction materials, and piping. Cargo is secured directly to the platform using lashing rings built into the side rails, floor, and corner posts, with belts and chains holding the load in place for transit. The end panels are available fixed or collapsible; the collapsible design lets empty units fold flush and stack for more efficient storage and return transport. Units are available with or without forklift pockets and typically ship with a wooden deck floor. External dimensions run approximately 6,058 x 2,438 x 2,591 mm, with an internal working area of about 5,612 x 2,438 x 2,221 mm. Tare weight is approximately 2,740 kg, with a maximum payload of 31,260 kg and a maximum gross weight of 34,000 kg. The container is ISO and CSC certified for freight use.
