This 325-gallon propane tank splits the difference between the smaller 250-gallon and larger 500-gallon sizes, making it a practical fit for households or small operations that fall in between — generally homes in the 1,000 to 2,500 square-foot range that don't need a full 500-gallon installation but want more runway than a 250-gallon tank offers. It measures about 10 feet long and 30 inches in diameter and holds up to roughly 310 gallons of propane. Construction is Class 150 ASME certified, which means that once the tank is installed and connected, it becomes a permanent, non-portable fixture rather than a swappable cylinder. It ships under factory vacuum seal; the first fill requires a propane provider to break that suction seal at the POL valve using methanol, after which the tank fills normally through the ACME fill valve. Typical uses include whole-home heating for smaller homes, backup power for generators, and running two to three propane appliances such as a water heater, range, or fireplace. As with any propane storage tank, installation needs to follow state and local codes, including required clearance from buildings and property lines.
