This is a used 1,000-gallon propane tank, built to ASME Section VIII, Division 1 code and rated for 250 psig service across a temperature range of -20°F to 125°F, in compliance with NFPA 58. It measures approximately 16 feet long with a 41-inch diameter, and weighs roughly 1,700 to 1,800 lbs empty, depending on whether it's the above-ground or underground configuration — underground tanks ship with a durable ready-to-bury coating (phenolic epoxy powder coat, urethane, or liquid epoxy, depending on manufacturing location), a green composite dome, and an anode stud on the riser pipe for cathodic protection against soil currents. Filled to the standard 80 percent safety level, this tank holds approximately 800 gallons of usable propane — roughly 73,200,000 BTU at full capacity. That capacity makes it well suited to large commercial kitchens and restaurants, propane resale and bottle-filling operations, agricultural use, and larger homes (generally 4,500 square feet and up) running multiple propane appliances. Two or more 1,000-gallon tanks can be piped together for higher-volume or high-demand service.
