The Caterpillar G3516 is a natural gas generator set line offered in four configurations, each built on the same 3516 platform but tuned for different output and duty requirements. The G3516A is rated for 1,085 ekW maximum continuous output and runs on natural gas, biogas, or coal gas at up to 36.5% maximum electrical efficiency. The G3516C steps up to 1,660 ekW maximum continuous on natural gas at 37.7% efficiency. The G3516 with FAST RESPONSE is rated for 1,500 ekW gas standby output at 0.8 power factor on natural gas and carries U.S. EPA certification for non-emergency stationary genset applications. At the top of the line, the G3516H reaches 2,027 ekW maximum continuous (2,007 ekW at 1.0 power factor) on natural gas, with the highest electrical efficiency in the family at 45.3%. Across all four configurations, the G3516 is built for facilities that cannot tolerate a loss of power: hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, sewage treatment plants, agricultural operations, cell towers, mines, airports, greenhouses, government buildings, schools, hotels, landfills, construction sites, and public utilities.
