This Polar MC-331 tank trailer is built to transport liquefied petroleum gas and other liquefied gases — including anhydrous ammonia, propane, butane, propylene, dimethyl ether, isobutane, and butadiene — with a hauling capacity of 11,600 gallons and a 265 PSI pressure rating. The tank uses the cylindrical, single-compartment design standard to MC-331 trailers, built with mild steel construction to handle the pressure these products require. Suspension, undercarriage, pump and pipe, load rack, landing gear, 5th-wheel plate, frame, and fender supports are all powder-coated over a zinc-rich primer, which keeps the finish brighter for longer, resists corrosion, chemicals, chipping, and scratching, and confines any nicks or scars to the point of impact for easier spot repair. Piping, valves, and hardware are stainless steel and all-welded, reducing the chance of leaks and helping the unit hold its appearance over time; non-torque-sensitive bolts, U-bolts, and even the mounting studs for the internal valves are stainless as well. Hydraulic and blowdown lines are also all-welded stainless steel tubing, pressure tested at twice the operating pressure, with Stauff clamps holding lines secure rather than U-bolts that can loosen over time. The trailer rides on Hendrickson air-ride axles with tandem, fixed rear axles, 11R22.5 tires, and all-aluminum wheels. Standard LPG safety equipment includes a rupture disk device, an emergency shut-off device, an electrostatic device, safety valves, a pressure gauge, and a combined liquid-level meter and thermometer. This is a 2023 model, sold new.
