This 20-foot container chassis is a tandem-axle, straight-frame slider chassis built for the stevedoring and transportation of a single ISO 20-foot container weighing up to an estimated 45,000 lbs. Slider positioning is set with a lock-pin assembly that indexes through holes in the frame rails — in the closed position, the chassis is ready for loading and unloading, while extending it sets the chassis up for road transport. Overall length is 23 feet 6 inches closed and 27 feet 6 inches extended, with an overall width of 96 inches, a king pin location 18 inches from the front, a coupler height of 48 inches, and a tare weight of approximately 6,600 lbs. The frame and main fabricated parts are high-strength, low-alloy ASTM A572 Grade 50 steel with a minimum yield point of 50,000 PSI. Standard components include 10.00 x 20 tires on 5-spoke wheels, a Hutch three-leaf-spring suspension rated at 11,000 lbs per spring, two axles rated at 22,500 lbs each with 16.5 x 7-inch Q brakes and automatic slack adjusters, and a Meritor Wabco 2S/1M anti-lock braking system with 30/30 spring brake chambers.
