1 / 3Shipping Container Lock Box
SKU: lockstandard
A bolt-on shipping container lock box that fits standard 20' and 40' containers without welding, more secure than a standard padlock alone.
Full Description
This shipping container lock box is a heavy-gauge steel enclosure that bolts onto a container's cargo doors to protect the padlock shackle from bolt cutters, angle grinders, and other cutting tools. A padlock used alone leaves its shackle exposed and can be cut through in under ten seconds; enclosing it inside this steel housing, with a recessed bolt design that also resists prying, closes that gap. Installation requires no welding. The kit includes a two-piece enclosure (left and right door halves), Grade 5 carriage bolts with hidden heads, backing plates that double as drill templates, washers, and mounting hardware, along with installation instructions. With a drill, a 5/8-inch bit, a 3/4-inch socket wrench, and basic measuring tools, installation typically takes 15 to 20 minutes: position the lock box at the preferred height (42–60 inches from the ground), mark the drill holes using the backing plate as a template, drill through the container doors, insert the carriage bolts through the lock box, door, and backing plate, then tighten. The finish is powder-coated steel, built to resist rust and hold up in outdoor conditions. It fits standard ISO 20-foot and 40-foot shipping containers with traditional swing doors and locking-rod handles, across New (1-Trip), Multi-Trip, Wind and Water Tight, Cargo Worthy, and most As-Is container grades, though the hardware isn't designed for roll-up door conversions, damaged or modified locking rods, or other non-standard door configurations — contact us to confirm fit if your container has been modified. A padlock is not included; pair it with a heavy-duty disc lock or shrouded-shackle padlock rated for outdoor use. If your lock box arrives with a defect in materials or workmanship, we'll arrange a replacement or refund.

Common Questions
How does the deposit and reservation process work?
A refundable deposit of up to $1,000 (or the item's full price if it's lower) holds this unit and locks the quoted price for 48–72 hours while we confirm availability and arrange delivery. If your order doesn't move forward, the deposit is fully refunded.
Do you deliver, and does it cost extra?
Yes, we deliver nationwide. Delivery is coordinated after reservation and quoted based on your location and the unit's size, so it isn't included in the listed price.
What's your return policy?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery. Return shipping and any related costs are the customer's responsibility.
Can I write this purchase off as a business expense?
Businesses may qualify to deduct the full purchase price in the year it's placed in service under Section 179, rather than depreciating it over several years. Rules and limits vary, so this isn't tax advice — talk to your accountant about your specific situation.
