Thermo King SLXi-DRC Single Temperature Units

The Thermo King SLXi-DRC is a slim-profile diesel refrigeration unit purpose-built for Domestic Refrigerated Container (DRC) and rail applications. A standard DRC is typically limited to 14 pallet rows; the SLXi-DRC's narrower design — about 7 inches slimmer than comparable units — frees up room for a 15th row when paired with a new container (an older container will not reach the 15-row figure). It is also roughly 200 lbs lighter than a standard DRC unit, helping optimize weight distribution within the container. The unit runs on a Thermo King TK486V four-cylinder, direct-injection, liquid-cooled diesel engine rated at 24.4 hp at 2,050 rpm, Final Tier 4 EPA compliant, paired with a Thermo King X430P reciprocating compressor (30.0 in³ / 492 cm³ displacement). Refrigerant is R-452A — a zero-ozone-depletion-potential refrigerant with a lower global warming potential than older refrigerants — at a 12.6 lb charge. System weight is 1,620 lbs, with overall dimensions of 89.7″ x 81.7″ x 16.9″. Cooling capacity at 100°F ambient on high-speed engine operation runs 46,000 BTU/hr at a 35°F setpoint, 32,000 BTU/hr at 0°F, and 19,000 BTU/hr at -20°F, with 40,000 BTU/hr of heating capacity and 3,230 ft³/min of airflow. Standard equipment includes a flush-mount evaporator to reduce damage risk during loading and unloading, aluminum doors, stainless steel hardware, a serpentine belt system, factory-installed telematics capability (no separate install required), a rail-ready horizontal side exhaust system, and a 36-watt ThermoLite solar panel to extend battery life. Extended Life Coolant is standard with a 5-year/12,000-hour service interval, and the EMI 3000 extended maintenance package covers the air cleaner, fuel filter, and oil filter, extending standard service intervals to 3,000 hours or two years, whichever comes first.
