Vector 8611MT Units

The Carrier Transicold Vector 8611MT is a multi-temperature trailer refrigeration unit built on the all-electric E-Drive Vector platform, designed for trailers split lengthwise by a center dividing wall. Rather than requiring a separate remote evaporator for the second compartment, it incorporates two evaporators and fans directly into the main unit, creating two independently controlled refrigerated zones — useful for food service and grocery distribution operations hauling mixed perishable and frozen loads. Each zone has independent air control for optimized airflow and pulldown, and the unit uses damperless defrost with consistent all-electric heating rather than hot gas heat, which lets it shut down the compressor and other refrigeration components while heating for additional fuel savings. A distinguishing feature of the 8611MT is its 15-inch side-to-side center-wall placement flexibility, versus competitive systems that require the trailer to be split exactly down the middle — this can accommodate up to 17% more cargo. The dual-evaporator design also eliminates most check and solenoid valves, meaning fewer braze joints and fewer potential refrigerant leak points than mechanically interconnected competitive units. Diesel power comes through a 21 kVA generator that runs the all-electric refrigeration system (E-Drive), with built-in electric standby so the unit can run at full refrigeration capacity from shore power while parked, without engine noise, emissions, or fuel use. Cooling capacity is 55,000 BTU/hr at a 35°F setpoint, with strong performance at freezing setpoints as well. For applications needing a third refrigerated compartment, the system is pre-configured for an optional remote evaporator from Carrier's line of full-width, half-width, single-, and dual-discharge smart evaporators, and the unit is compatible with Carrier's eSolutions telematics for remote monitoring.
