K-2000 Trailer Refrigeration Units

The K-2000 is a self-powered semi-trailer refrigeration unit built for trailers up to 13.7 meters (roughly 45 ft) long, with an application range of 75-105 m³ box volume — commonly fitted to 40ft and 53ft trailer bodies. It's an independent diesel-engine-drive unit with an electric standby option (the K-2000S variant) and runs on DC12V; the electric standby system, when fitted, operates on AC380V three-phase 60Hz or AC220V single-phase. The unit holds a working range of -20°C to +30°C using R404a refrigerant, with net cooling capacity rated at 19,500W at 0°C return air/30°C ambient and 10,900W at -20°C return air/30°C ambient, both measured at 1,800 engine RPM. Power comes from a Shibaura-Perkins 404D-22 diesel engine — a 2.2-liter (2,212 cc), 4-cylinder unit modified for transport refrigeration duty, rated at 25.8 kW at 1,900 engine RPM with a 14.6-liter lubricating oil capacity. The compressor is a German-built Bock 4TFRY, 4-cylinder with 650cc displacement and a single unloader valve for capacity control (dual unloader is optional). Defrosting is automatic via hot-gas defrost, with manual forced defrost also available. An intelligent control system monitors and protects against low engine oil pressure, high coolant temperature, excessive engine RPM, exhaust gas temperature, and system high/low pressure, along with 12VDC voltage and current monitoring, an integrated fuel heater, a door switch, and real-time high/low pressure monitoring. Condenser section dimensions are 1,945 x 2,270 x 592mm, with an evaporator housing of 1,685 x 1,150 x 204mm and a required front wall opening of 1,696 x 1,168mm. The engine-drive unit alone (without standby) weighs 818kg; the battery adds 25kg and the 180-liter aluminum fuel tank adds 12.8kg. Typical applications include field pre-cooling of produce, long-distance and inter-provincial trunk logistics, and transport of higher-value cargo such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, and frozen foods.
