Phoenix Ultra Refrigeration Units

This is a used Carrier Transicold Phoenix Ultra trailer refrigeration unit, part of Carrier's Ultra platform. Typical units in this condition run in the 5,000-8,000 hour range; units are inspected before sale and run and cool properly. Installation is available and can include fresh engine service, new belts, a new battery, and a 6-month warranty. Doors are fitted to the unit but are removed during transport. Forklift loading is available at pickup. Phoenix Ultra is built around Carrier's exclusive TriVortex engine, which mixes air and fuel more evenly for cleaner combustion — cutting nitrous oxide, hydrocarbon, and carbon monoxide emissions by as much as 50% compared to a direct-injection engine, while also running quieter and with less vibration. Oil-change intervals on the TriVortex engine are extended to 3,000 hours on synthetic oil. The unit pairs this engine with Carrier's 05G compressor — a 40-CID, 6-cylinder design with PosiLube oil-pressure protection for full lubrication even in subzero temperatures, and dual-ringed pistons to reduce blowby and maintain efficiency over time. Airflow is rated at 3,350 CFM with balanced distribution. UltraFresh 2 capacity and temperature control comes standard, holding cargo within about 2°F of setpoint at setpoints above 10°F. The exterior uses DuraShell composite skins and doors, a lightweight material that resists rust, denting, warping, fading, and peeling. A microprocessor controller runs fully automated diagnostic pretrips and is sealed with O-rings and dip-coated boards for water resistance. Automatic Start/Stop cuts fuel consumption by up to 75% by running the engine only as needed to hold cargo temperature, and the DuraDrive belt-drive system allows one-step belt replacement with up to 50% longer belt life than conventional systems. The unit can run on either HCFC R-22 or HFC R-404A refrigerant.
