X4 7300 Trailer Refrigeration Units

The Carrier Transicold X4 7300 is a single-temperature, belt-driven trailer refrigeration unit built on the X2 platform, incorporating high-efficiency components drawn from Carrier's Vector hybrid line. Power comes from a Tier 4 Final-compliant Kubota V2203L smart diesel engine — 4 cylinders, 2.2L direct injection, rated 24.8 hp (18.5 kW) at 1,800 rpm, with a CAN-bus electronic interface, 14.2L oil capacity, and a 70-amp alternator — paired with a large-displacement 05G-41CFM six-cylinder compressor (40 in³ displacement) for higher capacity and faster pulldown at lower operating speeds. The unit meets 2013 EPA Tier 4 emissions regulations and carries an Extended Service Interval (ESI) package that stretches the air filter, fuel filter, and oil filter service interval to 3,000 hours. At a 35°F setpoint and 100°F ambient, cooling capacity is 66,000 BTU/hr, dropping to 35,000 BTU/hr at 0°F and 23,000 BTU/hr at -20°F, with evaporator airflow of 3,050 cfm (5,180 m³/hr). Compared to the X2 platform it succeeds, the X4 7300 weighs about 30 lbs less, delivers 3–10% higher cooling capacity, pulls down up to 20% faster, uses 5–22% less fuel (up to 35% less during pulldown), needs 24% less refrigerant, and can run at speeds up to 18% slower — cutting engine runtime by as much as 15%. Standard refrigerant is R-404A at a 15 lb charge. Standard equipment includes the APX control system with IntelliSet and ProductShield, a Datalink data recorder, a multilingual graphical display, pretrip and Virtual Tech diagnostics, an integrated USB port, UltraFresh 3 temperature control, an electronic expansion valve, electronic suction modulation, compressor unloaders, a brazed plate heat exchanger, automatic start/stop, automatic hot gas heating, a high-efficiency microchannel condenser, a V-Force vortex suppression fan, TurboAir evaporator management, and composite doors with a single-release latch. Condenser dimensions are 76.4″ x 85.7″ x 22.8″, evaporator dimensions are 66.3″ x 45.2″ x 8.2″, body opening is 66.8″ x 46.0″, and approximate weight is 1,685 lbs (765 kg). A range of remote aluminum fuel tanks (30 to 120 gallons) and other accessories — eSolutions telematics, a Stealth 2 noise-reduction package, impact protection bumpers, and a chrome grille/stainless latch package among them — are available.
