Full Description
The Thermo King Precedent S-600 is a single-temperature trailer refrigeration unit built on Thermo King's Precedent platform with a greater-than-25-horsepower engine (TK488CR, 33 hp at 2,050 rpm). It's certified CARB Evergreen, meeting California Air Resources Board and EPA emissions standards for the life of the unit without ever needing a Diesel Particulate Filter — emissions compliance instead comes from common rail fuel injection, exhaust gas recirculation, and a diesel oxidation catalyst. The engine is a four-cylinder, direct-injection, liquid-cooled diesel with a 12-quart oil capacity and a 3,000/4,000-hour maintenance interval. Cooling is handled by an X430L reciprocating compressor with a 30.0 cubic-inch displacement, lightweight aluminum-alloy body, heads, and sump, charged with 14.5 lbs of R404A refrigerant. Rated refrigeration capacity (engine power with ETV, at 100°F ambient) is 60,000 BTU/hr (17,584 watts) at 35°F, 32,000 BTU/hr (9,378 watts) at 0°F, and 20,000 BTU/hr (5,861 watts) at -20°F. On electric power the unit delivers 30,000/22,000/15,000 BTU/hr at the same three setpoints in standard configuration, or 57,000/34,000/20,000 BTU/hr with the high-output SmartPower option. Heating capacity is 59,500 BTU/hr and airflow is rated at 3,300 ft³/min. The unit weighs 1,872 lbs and measures 81.6 x 86.2 x 24 inches, mounted on a 50-gallon aluminum undermount fuel tank with a visual fuel-level gauge. Standard features include the Smart Reefer 4 (SR4) controller with a temperature data logger, ServiceWatch and OptiSet Plus diagnostics, an integrated USB port, TracKing telematics from the factory, a permanent-magnet generator, microchannel condenser coils, a dual-speed evaporator fan, and composite door panels with auto-latch and auto secondary latch. Factory options include a Severe Duty Package (4,000-hour filtration with synthetic oil), a Supplemental Power Kit, an Arctic Package, LED lighting and chrome appearance packages, SmartPower electric standby in 230V or 460V 3-phase (standard or high-output), a fresh-air exchange system, and a 65-amp alternator.
