Full Description
The Thermo King SB-110+ is the reduced-capacity model in Thermo King's SB+ trailer refrigeration lineup, positioned below the SB-210+ and SB-310+ for shorter routes and in-city delivery work — it's a common fit for dairy and deli operations making frequent stops. Power comes from a TK486V direct-injection diesel engine, four-cylinder and liquid-cooled, rated at 34 hp at 2,200 rpm (high speed) and 1,450 rpm (low speed), with a 15-quart (14.2-liter) oil capacity and a 3,000-hour maintenance interval; it meets EPA Interim Tier 4 emissions requirements. The compressor is a Carrier X426L with 26.0 cubic-inch (426.1 cm³) displacement, a high-strength forged crankshaft, a lightweight aluminum-alloy body, replaceable cylinder liners, Vanasil ringless pistons, and a Gerotor oil pump. Refrigerant is R-404A at a 13-lb charge — the lowest charge in its comparison set, which reduces the unit's total environmental warming impact. Airflow is rated at 3,500 CFM at 0 in. static pressure and 3,200 CFM at 0.5 in. Temperature management runs through Thermo King's SR-2 controller, which pairs OptiSet Plus (with FreshSet programmable modes drawn from a library of more than 500 commodity profiles) with continuous-run and CYCLE-SENTRY fuel-saving modes, automatic and programmable defrost, and CargoWatch data logging that meets HACCP and NIST recording standards. The SR-2 display is angled to avoid sunlight glare and supports 21 languages, with a lockable keypad and mode-lock to prevent accidental or unauthorized setting changes. ServiceWatch records system performance and alarm history for diagnostics. The unit weighs 1,635 lbs (742 kg) and mounts on a 50-gallon (186-liter) aluminum undermount fuel tank with a fuel-level sensor, adding 35 lbs (16 kg). Standard equipment includes a high-capacity condenser coil, composite exterior panels, long-life coolant and silicone hoses, a vibration isolation system, and directional air delivery. Factory options include an electronic throttling valve (ETV), Whisper quiet technology, a remote status display, a fuel heater, a frost plug heater, a 65-amp 12V alternator, and a fresh-air exchange system.
