Full Description
The Thermo King SB-210+ is part of Thermo King's SB+ line of trailer refrigeration units, an evolution of the original SB series alongside the SB-110+ and SB-310+. It runs on a TK486V diesel engine at 1,450 rpm low speed and 2,200 rpm high speed (±25 rpm), fed by No. 2 diesel fuel under normal conditions or No. 1 diesel in cold weather, with a 13-quart (12.3-liter) crankcase and filter oil capacity. Cooling runs through an X430 large-shaft compressor on R-404A refrigerant, controlled by Thermo King's SR-2 microprocessor. The Whisper low-noise package and electronic throttling valve (ETV) are both featured on this configuration. The SR-2 controller pairs OptiSet Plus (drawing on a library of more than 500 temperature-sensitive commodity profiles, with up to 64 installable per unit) with continuous-run and CYCLE-SENTRY fuel-saving modes and CargoWatch data logging for food-safety recordkeeping. The unit can also be optioned with SmartPower, letting it run on electric shore power in addition to its standard diesel engine, which Thermo King rates as capable of cutting operating costs by up to 75% when shore power is available.
