Thermo King SB-Series Trailer Refrigeration System

Thermo King's SB+ line covers a full range of trailer refrigeration units — the SB-110+, SB-210+, and SB-310+ for trailer applications, plus the SB-310R+ for rail — built around the SR-2 Smart Reefer controller. All models in the line ship standard with ServiceWatch and CargoWatch data logging, and with OptiSet Plus, which draws on a library of more than 500 temperature-sensitive commodity profiles (up to 64 installable per unit) to simplify setting the correct control profile for a given load and reduce shipper and driver error. Engine and compressor sizing scales with the model: the SB-110+ and SB-210+ run a TK486V diesel engine at 34 hp, with the SB-110+ paired to a smaller X426L compressor (26.0 cu in displacement) and the SB-210+ to a larger X430L compressor (30.0 cu in); the SB-310+ steps up to the higher-output TK486VH engine running at up to 2,600 rpm high speed, versus 2,200 rpm for the smaller models. Low-speed operation across the line is 1,450 rpm. Whisper low-noise technology is standard on the SB-310+ and available as an option on the SB-110+ and SB-210+. The SB-210+ can also be factory-fitted with SmartPower, allowing the unit to run on electric shore power in addition to its standard diesel engine, which Thermo King rates as capable of cutting operating costs by up to 75% when shore power is available.
