The Thermo King SG-3000 is a self-contained, diesel-powered clip-on genset built to supply independent electrical power to a refrigerated container when grid power isn't an option. It mounts to the container's corner castings with quick-disconnect fasteners, or optional header pin mounting, and is CSC certified for use in over-the-road, rail, and marine transport. The unit measures roughly 2337 x 710 x 1053 mm and weighs about 818 kg (1,804 lbs). It outputs 15kW (18.75kVA) at 460V/230V, 3-phase, 60Hz, runs on a 125-gallon (473-liter) diesel tank, and pulls from a 12V/925CCA battery. The engine meets EPA, CARB, and ISO 1496-2 emissions and safety standards and is certified to run on biofuels such as hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO). Service is needed only once every 3,000 hours of operation. The SG-3000 runs on Thermo King's SG+ microprocessor controller, which provides automatic pre-heat starting, alarm list and reset functions, running-hours and voltage tracking, and an optional remote-monitoring package. An optional EcoPower operation mode is documented by Thermo King as delivering more than 20 percent fuel savings versus competitive gensets. Forklift pockets come standard for handling, and the fuel tank can be swapped for a smaller or larger option on request. Available in new and used condition.
