Manufactured in the United States, the Thermo King SG-5000 clip-on genset is built to keep temperature-sensitive cargo protected regardless of ambient conditions, delays, or route. It carries lifetime CARB compliance and meets full EPA Tier 4 standards for off-highway diesel engines, so the unit stays compliant for its entire service life without the need for later retrofits. Inside, a large-diameter alternator with reinforced bearings and high-specification rotating diodes pairs with an engine-driven coolant fan and premium corrosion protection to keep the unit running in demanding conditions. It's rated to power any ISO reefer on the market and is offered in clip-on (approximately 828 kg) or undermount (approximately 686 kg) configuration, with an engine tuned for faster throttle response and built-in two-speed fuel-saving technology. Service is needed once every 3,000 hours. The genset runs on an advanced Thermo King controller with automated pre-trip testing, self-check diagnostics, alarm monitoring, auto-restart, and event data logging. An optional telematics package tracks position, fuel, engine hours, and running parameters in real time by road, rail, or terminal.
