Thermo King SG-5000 Clip-On Genset Tier 4 Standards

The Thermo King SG-5000 is the largest clip-on genset in our Thermo King lineup, built for marine reefers and manufactured in the United States. It's engineered for lifetime CARB compliance and full EPA Tier 4 compliance for off-highway diesel engines — among the strictest emissions standards the EPA sets — so there's no need to relocate or retrofit the unit later to stay compliant. The generator uses a large-diameter alternator with reinforced bearings and high-specification rotating diodes, backed by an engine-driven coolant fan and added corrosion protection for continuous operation. It's rated to power any ISO reefer container on the market and is available in both clip-on and undermount configurations; clip-on units weigh approximately 828 kg, undermount approximately 686 kg. The engine delivers faster throttle response and includes integrated two-speed fuel-saving technology, with a service interval extended to 3,000 hours. Controls run through an advanced Thermo King controller with automated pre-trip testing, self-check diagnostics and alarms, auto-restart, and event/alarm data logging. An optional telematics package adds real-time tracking of position, fuel level, engine hours, and running parameters by road, rail, or at terminal. The fuel tank holds 473 liters (125 gallons), and forklift pockets are built in for handling. CSC certified, and available in new and used condition.
