The Carrier Transicold X4 7500 is a single-temperature, belt-driven trailer refrigeration unit built on Carrier's X2 platform, positioned as the higher-capacity model in the X4 Series alongside the 7300. At AHRI rating conditions, it delivers up to 68,000 BTUs of cooling with a 35°F setpoint against a 100°F ambient, and it meets 2013 EPA Tier 4 emissions requirements. Carrier's EcoFORWARD technologies are built into the unit to raise cooling output while cutting fuel use: the X4 7500 achieves 35 to 50 percent more BTUs of cooling per gallon of fuel than the platform it replaces, along with roughly 3 to 10 percent higher cooling capacity, pulldown up to 20 percent faster, fuel consumption 5 to 22 percent lower (up to 35 percent lower during pulldown), 24 percent less refrigerant required, and reduced engine runtime — improvements driven by optimized V-Force fans, Novation micro-channel condenser coils, and a standard electronic expansion valve in place of the mechanical valves used on earlier models. Power comes from a Tier 4 Final V2203L diesel engine — 4-cylinder, 2.2L direct injection, rated at 24.8 hp (18.5kW) at 1,800 rpm — paired with a CAN-bus electronic interface, a 70-amp alternator, and Carrier's Extended Service Interval (ESI) package, which stretches service to every 3,000 hours. The refrigeration circuit runs on R-404A refrigerant (16.5 lbs / 7.5 kg) through a 05G-41CFM, 6-cylinder, 40 in³ compressor, with electronic suction modulation, compressor unloaders, a brazed plate heat exchanger, automatic start/stop fuel saving, and an automatic hot gas heating system. The unit runs on Carrier's APX control system — a decentralized, CAN-bus-based architecture with a multilingual dashboard display, IntelliSet with ProductShield, a Datalink data recorder, integrated USB port, and pretrip/Virtual Tech diagnostics. Other standard features include a high-efficiency microchannel condenser, V-Force vortex suppression fan, TurboAir evaporator airflow management, and composite doors with single-latch release. The unit weighs approximately 1,690 lb (767 kg), plus a remote 50-gallon aluminum fuel tank with mounting brackets (65 lb / 29 kg) and battery (50 lb / 23 kg). Evaporator airflow is rated at 3,100 cfm (5,270 m³/hr), with cooling output of 68,000 BTU/hr at a 35°F return air temperature, dropping to 37,000 BTU/hr at 0°F and 24,000 BTU/hr at -20°F. The installation package includes screw-post battery terminals, a remote 50-gallon single-fill aluminum fuel tank (22-inch fill), a remote light bar, and a full bottom panel.
